About our group
Our small group is composed mainly of Returned Volunteers. We welcome enquirers about VSO and assist at the regular information evenings in Norwich which are run by a representative from HQ.
We aim to support volunteers before, during and after their return from their projects, especially if we have helped to sponsor them. At present there are two such people, one in Malawi, another in Bangladesh. We can sometimes put new volunteers in touch with another experienced person. We enjoy meeting returned volunteers and hearing their stories. We aim to raise awareness of VSO through regular open meetings, giving talks, arranging social activities and liaison with other agencies. Some of these may include fund - raising in order to sponsor a local volunteer. We try to keep in touch with local members as well as those who wish to be on a mailing list by sending out the programme of meetings. Most of these take place in Norwich.
If you wish to enquire about membership at £5 per year, ring Pat Walker on 01603 502480
When and where we meet
We meet at 7.30pm in the Hall behind Trinity URC Church on Unthank Road at the roundabout next to the Catholic cathedral in Norwich. Parking space is very limited so you may consider walking from a nearby road if you are a car user.
